Week 7: Good Night Moon
Please perform the following PRESCHOOL activities with your child

Activity 1: Look around your house and find something to draw.
You can use pencils, color papers, glue, scissors and any materials.
Where would the mouse hide in your picture? Why would it hide there?
What do you see out your window at night? Use paper, pencils, scissors, glue, paper plates, coffee filters, for a moon.

Activity 2: Look around the house and see how many colors you can find.
Can you count how many items are the same color?
Look at the pictures of the room with the red windows. Do you see the moon? How does it look different on each page? Draw the moons you see.

Activity 3: Act like the animals in the book: bunny, cow, kittens, & mouse. How do these animals move? What sounds do they make?
Yoga: The Moon Shines
The moon (bring arms over head) is shining all around.
It shines on land (standing side bend) and sea (standing side bend other side).
It shines on cars (sit with legs out straight, pretend to drive a car).
It shines on boats (make a V shape using your whole body)
It shines on you and me. (hands at heart)

Actividad 3:
Actúa como los animales del libro: conejito, vaca, gatitos y ratón. ¿Cómo se mueven estos animales? ¿Qué sonidos hacen?
Yoga: La Luna Brilla
La luna (traer los brazos sobre la cabeza) Brilla a nuestro alrededor.
Brilla sobre la tierra (elongación lateral parado-estire un brazo sobre la cabeza e incline hacia el lado)
y el mar (elongación lateral parada hacia el otro lado).

Activity 4: Why do you think the bunny says goodnight to everyone?
How is he feeling after saying goodnight?
What do you do to get ready for bed? Make a check-off chart for each night.

Activity 5: Scavenger hunt: Can you find some things that were in the bunnies’ room in your house?

Activity 6: Review the page with the painting of the cow jumping over the moon. Introduce the nursery rhyme
“Hey, Diddle, Diddle”
Hey, diddle, diddle,
The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon;
The little dog laughed,
To see such a sport,
And the dish ran away from the spoon.
Review the pages and point out rhyming words- bears/chairs, kittens/mittens, house/mouse, mush/hush
Actividad 6: Revise la página con la pintura de la vaca saltando sobre la luna. Presente la canción de cuna

Cuando la vio
Y la cuchara con el plato huyó.
Revise el cuento e identifica palabras que riman como juguetones/mitones, viejecita/calladita (* si la lectura es en inglés: kittens/mittens, house/mouse)
